Title:   Miner Flour Tortillas [Rick's]
Category:   Breads
From:   Miners
Ingredients:
2.2 lbs. flour
1 T salt
1 t baking powder
1/4 c shortening
Warm water
Directions:   In a big bowl with your hands mix flour, shortening, salt and baking powder. The mixture should be well mixed and feel like bigger little balls of flour. Add enough warm water so the flour mixture becomes a big dough ball. Not too sticky and not too dry. Tear out small balls of dough about the size of ping pong balls and work the outside edge into the middle. While doing that make sure the small balls don't dry out. Then with a rolling pin extend the balls into tortillas- forward one, then backward one. Rotate tortilla and repeat until very thin. Use flour sparingly so they don't stick to the rolling pin. Place extended tortillas on a medium to high heat surface- preferably cast iron skillet. When the top inflates a little to a lot you did well. When all the top is not raw, flip to brown the top. Store somewhere warm while cooking remaining tortillas. To store overnight, put in something sealable in the fridge.
